pjtraveler Posted August 12, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 12, 2008 Uniworld does, and I think most of the others will also. You can usually find postings that show with air and cruise only. Sometimes you have to ask for a quote on airfare.
paul929207 Posted August 12, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 12, 2008 They only include air from the gateways in the basic price. For instance if you are going to Europe, the included air is from NYC, Newark & Boston. Other cities are more.
GlobeMan Posted August 12, 2008 #5 Share Posted August 12, 2008 We booked a November Nile cruise with Uniworld including air travel. The booking had a connection through Paris. We were able to book non-stop EgyptAir flights on our own at a savings of about $100 per ticket so we cancelled the Uniworld air. Uniworld confirmed that we would still get transfers since the travel days remain unchanged.
tiggypooo Posted August 13, 2008 #6 Share Posted August 13, 2008 You can book any cruise without the cruiseline air included. They remove the cost of the flight from the booking price. Their air prices are generally quite inflated anyway, so it's much better to book it independently.
Ship's Wake Posted August 13, 2008 #7 Share Posted August 13, 2008 One advantage of booking the cruise line's air package is that transfers from the airport to the ship and back are usually included in the air price. If you book your own air for many lines, you'll also need to pay for their transfers (which can be $60 or up per person each way). This is important to know when comparing air prices on your own so that you you can have a like comparison. I know that Uniworld includes complimentary transfers even if you book air on your own provided you arrive at their suggested airport before a certain time on the day the cruise embarks and return to the airport the day the cruise ends. For our upcoming Uniworld Danube Christmas Markets cruise this December, we booked our own air, and will receive complimentary transfers from Munich to Passau. The brochure for Viking indicated that transfers are additional if you book your own air. This may be the case with other lines - you'll need to check with the one you are interested in. Suico Posted August 13, 2008 #8 Share Posted August 13, 2008 Vantage included airfare from the West Coast and the cost was less than just the cost of the cruise on most other lines.

dlhamlten Posted August 15, 2008 #10 Share Posted August 15, 2008 thanks for all the feedback-will do some additional checking with the individual companies. As others may have noted, Airfares, Baggage Handling, Airport Reps and Transfers are included with Grand Circle Tours - if you want them. You can always make your own arrangements, but their Group Rates are usually the lowest available. Once you pay, the air portion is guaranteed so you are not hit with additional surcharges or increases. If you are a first time Grand Circle or Overseas Adventure Tours traveller and want to book one of their trips, I have Coupon Info that can save $100 per person INSTANT SAVINGS off their River Cruises this year or next. No cost to you or obligation. :) As Past Guests on Grand Circle, we would get a credit for future travel if you use our Name and Customer Number as a referral reward. You must give them this Info when you first Book. You can EMail me direct at Dlhamlten@comcast.net if you are interested in these savings.
