RandomIam Posted August 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted August 15, 2008 We will be staying at the Renaissance in downtown Seattle for 2 nights before our cruise. There are 8 of us (including 2 under 2). We will have a car but are wondering if there is much within walking distance so we don't have to pay for parking too often other than at the hotel. How far is Pike's, other fun things to do (don't need to hit the space needle or that area). Thanks Anyone have any info on the Renaissance or the area right around it? love2cruiseseattle Posted August 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 15, 2008 You are located on 5th and Madison which is walking distance to lots of great sites, but be warned you are on a hill so depending on where you are visiting you may have some hills to climb. From you hotel to get to Pike Place Market, walk down the hill to 4th Avenue and head North (towards the Space Needle). At Pike Street take a left and you will be heading West and will run right into the Market. It is about a 8 block walk, going back to the hotel if you do the opposite you will only have 1 or 2 steep hills to climb. Our city does have a free bus system inside a certain area so you can also jump on a bus at 1st and Pike to get back to the hotel (#12). You are also walking distance to our International District, Pioneer Square, Waterfront and lots of shopping. I hope this helps some??
