Miami-Cuban restaurants

Recommended Posts

We'll have a few hours to spare between disembarkation and our flight on Monday and would like to find someplace to have lunch before heading home. We love Cuban food, and for some odd reason, there's just not a lot of it to be found in rural Ohio.;)

Can anyone suggest a good place? We're not looking for fancy, just good food. We thought about going to "Little Havana" (I think it's called that...), but we'll be dragging along our carry-on bags, so maybe that's not the best option.

Thanks!

If you are flying out of Miami International Airport, there is a "La Carreta" restaurant inside the airport, so you could have lunch after you check in your luggage.

Versailles, in Little Havana is well known for their cuban food, however, as you said, you would have to drag your bags with you, unless you rent a car for the day and turn it in at the airport.

La Carretta ain't bad.....they have several sites around Miami and they are pretty popular with the locals. The airport location (last I was there) was cafet' style but the food is certainly authentic Cuban IMO

Sometime the lines also offer a 'tour' to Bayside. They'll deal with your luggage and then there are a couple of Mom and Pops in Bayside....stay out of the chains and look for where the locals are eating... COnsider this if you want to avaoid the airport until you 'must'
