Help! south beach hotels and fll, port everglades

Hi,

re. south beach hotels and fll, sailing out of port everglades

 

Cruising on a Sat in Jan.... Arriving Fri at 10:30 am at FLL.

Husband and I want to enjoy a precruise moderately-priced hotel in South beach and return next day to cruise out of port everglades.

 

Questions:

 

-Any hotels to avoid?

-Will shared ride with "go-limo" service individual hotels there?

-Prices from FLL to south beach and back to Port Evergld cruise port?

-Any hotels let you check in around 12:00?

-Any Nightlife not to miss?

Looking at Richmond, Catalina, Kent hotel, South beach hotel

Anything else would be helpful

I stayed at the Sagamore in South Beach last year prior to my cruise. I loved it.

We've got a reservation at the Strand for two nights. All the reviews have been good. Any idea about transportation back to Port Everglades? The concierge suggested a shared van or limo for $75, just not sure yet what to do.
