Host Kewlguy Posted August 24, 2008 #2 Share Posted August 24, 2008 The South shore beaches is where I would spend the majority of my time in Bermuda. There is more to see in Hamilton verses St. Georges.
bay guy Posted August 24, 2008 #3 Share Posted August 24, 2008 St. george is interesting to visit for about 2-3 hours. Some nice small shops and a couple of interesting sights. Make sure you visit the old church which is near the top of the hill in town. Reading the stories of people's lives and other info that's on the headstones is kind of interesting. Hamilton is also nice. There's a nice park a couple of blocks up from Front St. and the parliament building andother sights in twn. The shopping there isn't as good as it used to be because a couple of the very old department stores have closed or been taken over by lower quality companies. Things are expensive. dontstayathome Posted August 25, 2008 #4 Share Posted August 25, 2008 When we visited Bemuda this past July we thought that St. George's was a "quaint little town" vs. Hamilton which was a very nice "city". We liked Hamilton more than we liked St. George's but it is truly a personal choice. Also, we were on the cruise in July that had to be rerouted from St. George's into Hamilton because of Hurricane Bertha. We could not make the small cut into St. George's. When the crew of the Majesty heard that we were docking in Hamitlon instead of St. George's they all seemed to be very happy and we took that as a good sign....we were not disappointed.
