On Princess Panama Canal round trip out of Ft Lauderdale. They offer a shore excursion that takes you to the Pacific side and Panama City by train. Does anyone know if you will be back to the ship before it goes back through the locks or will they take you to Cristobal?

If you leave the ship for any excursion, you meet the ship after it has gone back out the locks and has docked at Cristobal (or at Colon depending on your itinerary).

Thanks, now I know. I don't want to miss the return trip through the locks so I will just stay on the ship.

There is a benefit in staying on the ship for the return lockage through Gatun ....... the ship is not crowded! you can pretty much get to any of the "premium" spots that were crowded in the morning"s lockage up to the Lake.
