3dogmom Posted September 29, 2008 #2 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Thank you so much for posting this. Which one did you choose and did you feel it was worth it? 'Consuming only at restaurants'...is that at the main dining room and specialty restaurants? I wish they had a 5 bottle option...I guess you're forced to down a bottle every night! 14 Days or Longer Posted September 29, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Yes it's only the main dining room and the specialty restaurants. We plan to enjoy a bottle at lunch on some sea days. The package is also supposed to have some bottled water included. We went for the high end because at 15.00 a bottle it really is a deal. We haven't found a bottle of wine on board a ship for 15.00 nor a wine package this inexpensive on any former cruise line. (RCCL,Princess,Celebrity,NCL,HAL)Wine usually starts at about 24.00 dollars. We realize that there is some Italian plunk out there but we are willing to give the wine package a try. What we don't know is if the packages are higher once you board the ship. A friend who cruised MSC said that TA's get the best deal when they add the cost to your invoice.
3dogmom Posted September 30, 2008 #4 Share Posted September 30, 2008 Thanks for the additional info. We usually purchase the wine package, too on RCCL but you're right, the wine is a lot pricier. Maybe I will get my TA to go ahead and purchas the package ahead of time.
kimberley Posted September 30, 2008 #5 Share Posted September 30, 2008 Where did you get the list and the prices from? These certainly were not available on the MSC Opera or Armonia last week. Thanks Kimberley

copper6606 Posted October 2, 2008 #7 Share Posted October 2, 2008 Did you arrange this BEFORE you left or when you arrived on the cruise?
14 Days or Longer Posted October 3, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted October 3, 2008 We had been told that ordering wine packages through your TA saved you money over ordering them on board. So we ordered through our TA. We were still confused as to the maker of these wines but decided at 15.00 a bottle we could take a chance. We depart Dec 16 . (MSC took awhile to respond to our TA's request for pricing list)

The "house wine " on Costa a few months ago was excellent! Enjoy your cruise.
