Its been a while since I sailed on Celebrity. Just got my Ticket booklet for an upcoming November cruise. It contains a whole list of "Suggested Gratuities" to be given on the last night of the cruise. My most recent four cruises have been on HAL and they add the gratuities to automatically to your cruise credit card account. Does Celebrity also do this? If so, why are they suggesting gratuities or do they expect them both ways?

Celebrity does not "automatically" charge tips to your SeaPass account. But there will be a form delivered to your stateroom, with an option to either charge the tips to your account, or pay by cash.

I took the form I received while onboard to guest services. I had the tips put on my seapass account. The last day I got marked envelopes with statements of the tips I had prepaid. I added some US dollars for some individuals and short hand written notes for all. I passed out the envelopes in person and thanked the crew members who had given great service during the cruise.
