Last Minute Cruiser Question!

Am noticing some good deals for Thanksgiving week cruises, but all of them have only guaranteed cabins, not particular cabin assignments. I am assuming that's due to the short time between now and Thanksgiving.

 

Here's my dilemma: I need two cabins, and they need to be close together--not necessarily next door but within a few doors.

 

Those of you who have purchased multiple guaranteed cabins before, especially at short notice, how good was Carnival about giving you close-together cabins? Obviously some would depend on what cabins were still open...but any feedback would help me. Thanks!

I booked 3 cabins on our last cruise... they were linked... one of them was about 15 doors down, one was on the other side of the ship, but pretty close. They do the best they can to link the bookings...
