 hi all, im interested to know about:

1. the coffee

2. price of drinks and lounges

3. beds, are they hard or soft, i like soft

4. smoking area's on the ship

thanks before hand, have a great day!

Your first two questions are pretty unspecific. I'll try to give you some idea to get the ball rolling.

The coffee served is adequate, I wouldn't tag it as special. There's also expresso and caps served in the DRs. Specialty coffee can be purchased at the Explorations Cafe for a reasonable price.

Simple well brand drinks run between $7 and $8 IIRC. There's a daily drink special that goes for less. There's a beverage service charge. Call brands and top shelf will obviously be more.

The beds are veery comfortable, one of HALs signature upgrades.

Smoking areas are designated in some lounges and on certain parts of the outside decks. These are marked with table tents or ashtrays. Smoking is allowed in the room and on your balcony if you have one.

HAL has:

Soda card -- $20.70 for 20 glasses of soda -- this is about 1/2 can of soda.

Cocktail card - $64.69 for 10 cocktails -- made with house alcohol. Premium brands -- there will be an extra charge.

House wine card -- 10 glasses for $41.40

House wine card -- 20 glasses for $77.63

Coffee card -- 10 speciality coffees at the Exploration's Cafe.

All prices above include the 15% gratuity.

We have gotten the Wine Cards and feel they are a good price. The house brand on most ships is Stone Barn.

We usually get Stoli's on the Rocks -- about an ounce for $5.45 plus 15% gratuity.

The beds are Euorpean -- ver good.

We have sailed on the Ryndam quite a few times -- she is a great ship!

Since we cruise in Delux suites -- DH uses the coffe machine there to get coffees, lattes, etc.
