DJandSydney Posted October 22, 2008 #28 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Sounds like the ship was good for you and should be when we sail in Jan... Anybody ever do a tour of the bridge or galley?
djacobson Posted October 22, 2008 #29 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Sounds like the ship was good for you and should be when we sail in Jan... Anybody ever do a tour of the bridge or galley? There is a tour of the galley tour available for Platinum guests, I think it is on the last sea day. While you don't get to see everything and the tour goes by quickly, you do get to see the chefs at work. The tour is just before lunch time so that things are not too hectic. djacobson Posted October 22, 2008 #30 Share Posted October 22, 2008 I was able to get me a small battery operated alarm clock at walmart for around $5. Its maybe 4 imches in diameter and round, but will work to help keep track of the time and to get us up in the morning. You can also have a wake up call arranged from the purser's desk, using your cabin phone.
djacobson Posted October 22, 2008 #31 Share Posted October 22, 2008 How many outlets did they have and were they 3 prong (grounded?) outlet? There is one 110V outlet (with ground) and 220V outlet. I always bring a six outlet surge protector with me to plug in the cameras, battery charger, CPAP machine, etc. You may also want to bring an extension cord, especially if you have a CPAP. djacobson Posted October 22, 2008 #32 Share Posted October 22, 2008 Thanks! we're getting excited... did you do any excursions? There is a great company in Progreso called AutoProgreso, with conducts tours of the different Mayan ruin sites. Their prices are very good and I have been very impressed with them the three times I traveled with their guides.
djacobson Posted October 22, 2008 #33 Share Posted October 22, 2008 I am soo looking forward to the serenity area. How many people did the hot tubs fit and how many are in the serenity area. Also did they do a mardi gras night? The Mardi Gras night the last time I was on the Fantasy was a "Pub Crawl" from Cleopatras Bar, which continues with a Second Line Parade with beads through the Promenade Deck. It ends with a contest at the Electricity Lounge. It starts around 1030 pm and it's lots of fun.

I cant wait to go back on the ship the pics that I have seen the pool areas look so nice. The rooms pretty much look the same. Did the redo the rooms at all? sappygirl Posted October 22, 2008 #36 Share Posted October 22, 2008 I read your review. LOL. 5's and 5+'s on everything. Were we on the same ship. If so, I wish I would have been smoking the same thing as you. NO offense, but your review presents a perfect ship. Hardly. Maybe it was for her/him.

Did the redo the rooms at all? Danielle Hi Danielle, Currently the first time (and only time) the Fantasy is going to Costa Maya is on the November 10th, 2009 6-night cruise out of Mobile. We were hoping that the they would at least go to an alternating schedule out of NOLA. The Fantasy will be doing the Holiday's old schedule of Cozumel/Progreso and Cozumel/Calica when she does go to Mobile. The first ship back to Costa Maya is the Westerdam on Oct 31. The Carnival Victory is next on Nov 4th. Carnival Legend and Veendam on Nov 7th. As far as the rooms some have said only the carpet and TV's have been changed in the regular staterooms. The suites were totally redone. Dave

JerseyJaguar Posted October 22, 2008 #40 Share Posted October 22, 2008 The ride there and back was about 2 and a half hours. And yes they were keeping kids out of the serenity area. ;) Is there a lot to see on this drive or is it a good time to listen to music or sleep? paynelk Posted October 22, 2008 #41 Share Posted October 22, 2008 There was a Mardi Gras party which was a bar crawl.I am thinking that it was either Wednesday or Thursday night.I did not attend but it was listed in the capers and Big Tex made several "Tex Messages" about it. LHP Posted October 22, 2008 #45 Share Posted October 22, 2008 The party I believe was on formal night. I hope they still have the Mardi Gras party. Yes, they still have it. It is called the Mardi Gras PUB CRAWL. They start in the Piano bar, then go to the Atrium on Empress, then head to the Promenade solo spot outside the casino, then into the Cat's Lounge, Disco and finally end up in karaoke. Big Tex leads it until time for the show, then Gary takes over. We got back a week from Monday ( we were on the second sailing out of drydock) and had a blast.
