Commodore on the Beach

How does it rate? I am not looking for anything fancy. Just a place to sleep the night before and leave my car. How much do you think for a taxi?

Older just fine middle of the road hotel and believe have parking and transportation or transportation available

We've stayed there a couple of times (Carnival cruises). I agree with Galveston Cruiser, it's not anything fancy. It's an older motel with all of the rooms facing the bay and Seawall Blvd. IIRC, the cost of a taxi to the port was under $12.00/per taxi. It's located in a very good area on Seawall Blvd. with lots of restaurants and bars within walking distance.

 

We had a continental breakfast included, but it was just cereal and packaged pastries. It's been a while, so things could have changed for better or for worse :(.

 

If you're just looking for a place to crash before the cruise, it's fine :D!

Thanks. Good enough for us. We will be late arriver's and early leavers. Sounds much more economical for us to do this and catch a taxi then pay for parking at the terminal.

Commodore is at 37th and Seawall.

Phillips 66 service station at 35th and Seawall.

A convenience store. Not large but adequate.:D
