sej67 Posted November 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted November 15, 2008 I realize with all its islands Greece is a very maritime country. But even considering that, it seems like they are waaaaaayyy overrepresented for ship captains as well as other high-ranking members of the crew. Why is that? etoile Posted November 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted November 15, 2008 Let me guess, you like Celebrity? :D They have all-Greek officers because the company originated in Greece. The reason "X" is their logo is because they used to be called Chandris Line, and the Greek initial looks like an X. :) (If you're talking about another line, then I am very confused!) You will find that Holland America always has Dutch captains, too. ;)
Rare Clay Clayton Posted November 16, 2008 #3 Share Posted November 16, 2008 Why are so many ship captains Greek? To drive us crazy of course!
GXmanDC Posted November 16, 2008 #4 Share Posted November 16, 2008 Aren't Royal Caribbean's captains all Norwegian? I heard that from a tablemate on my last cruise.
