Comfort Inn Questions...

Hello, just booked a room at the Comfort Inn on Paradise Island... thanks to all the people who gave advice on what to do on all these wonderful islands on CC! How close is the Comfort Inn from Atlantis? We are hoping a room will be ready, so we can leave our snorkel gear and stuff in there while we go to the waterslides etc.... can we walk from the cruiseship terminal to this hotel? How long would the walk be? Has anyone ever been harassed for being at the hotel early, and just wanting the day passes... or are they all pretty easy going... If we have signing privelidges at Atlantis, does that mean we can order drinks, food etc., and they will just charge it to our credit card we gave at Comfort Inn? Alright, thats all I can think of for now... we really debated on doing this... but everyone who has been to, or seen Atlantis, says we are crazy not to spend the day there! Our kids will love it!!! Thanks again!;)

You can't walk from the cruise ship to CS--and you don't want to waste time walking! You can take the water taxi which is $3 per person each way. Or a taxi--rates have gone up so not sure what they are now.

Once you check in--and you should check out at same time--(this will save time) walk across the street to the Coral Tower--I would then suggest turning left and walking through the casino and just past the shopping arcade--take the stairs down and head to the right and walk out through the dig--once you exit you will be at the lagoon and pool area--aquaventure is off to the left.

There should be a towel hut closeby to get your wristbands and towels--don't bother to bring any from the ship.

The Comfort Suites is used to people doing this so it shouldn't be a problem.

Let me know if you have younger kids and I can direct you to things for them also.

It is worth going--it is our grandkids favorite vacation and I assure you that you will have a ball!

Thank you as I had pretty much the same questions. But I have a couple more? If we get tired of the slides and want to do just beach is that accessible from the comfort suites? What is the dig? You said to check in and out at the same time if you do that you would not be able to use the room for changing and storage. Can you check out later? How long does it take to get from the ship to the comfort suites?

now you know Atantis! Too bad you weren't on the same cruise as us!! You would be an asset! Our girls are 9 and 11. They are worried that the waterslides end in deep water... They like the ones that end in the slide in a foot of water!! It's funny, they can snorkel in 10 feet of water, but the slides... it has to be shallow!! So we don't get the wristbands at comfort inn... we get them at Atlantis? We would rather have a room for the day to store our gear, and like my husband said..."what if I have to go #2, its nice to have my own bathroom for that". He always thinks of the most important things... ha ha! Thanks again!

The only beach access is through Atlantis--Comfort Suites is not on the beach. The Dig is a series of tunnels with various views of aquariums with Atlantis themes throughout. I just suggest going through there first so you can serve a dual purpose--see it and also get out to the pool/lagoon/beach.

You can certainly use your room but going back and forth does take time and to maximize your time it makes sense to do check in and out together but you don't have to--if you feel you want to do that then use the room.

As to slides that aren't as scary--there are several on the right side of the Mayan Temple--the kids will also like the rapids--my 10 year old grandson did fine on them--if the old Lazy river is open again there are many slides there also--this is near the two older hotels--Beach/Coral Towers. They also retrofitted the old lazy river so it is now heated also.

Depending on time of day/traffic the time for taxi travel can be anywhere from 10-20 minutes. Depending on where you hang out at Atlantis it will be anywhere from a 5-10 minute (maybe longer with slow walkers) walk back to Comfort Suites so make sure to calculate that in to your time! You can also take the shuttle to and from Royal Towers to the hotel entrance right across from Comfort Suites. Shuttles run pretty regularly.

Each time we have gone to Nassau our ship has stayed in Port until midnight so we always keep our room at Comfort Suites. After a day at Atlantis we walk back over to comfort Suites and shower. We then go back to Atlantis walk around the digs and aquariums then and see a bit of the night life.

If you have the entire day I would not give up the room upon arrival. It's not that far of a walk back tot he hotel..sometimes we walk thru the casino and over to Coral towers or sometimes we go out the Royal towers and walk the sidewalk..Either way it's not too long.

Comfort Suites has shampoo and hair dryer all the amenities so you don't have to bring much..just some extra clothing. We made sure to bring a plastic bag to put our wet clothing in.

We did check out after showering and getting ready so we kept our personal stuff to a minimum so as to not have to lug it around at night with us :)

I know out by the pool we could not use cash for drinks/food..I think we used a cc and not our room key. There are lockers at Atlantis out by the pools so if you have snorkel stuff i would not leave it in the room to go back to get it..keep with your stuff by the pool and if you are all going on the slides rent a locker..about $7..much more convenient...the beach at Atlantis is gorgeous and there are tons of beach chairs..if you want to ride wave runner you must pay CASH...they don't accept room keys or CC.

We will be there on Sat :) Looks like it will be sunny and warm!

We have also flown down and stayed right at Atlantis so we are pretty familiar with the layout. It is a huge complex..but most of the slides are in one general area so you are not walking back and forth! But you must take the time after the pools close (if you have time) to walk around the grounds and the digs! It is a gorgeous property!

The Cove is like another world..reminded me of Europe!
