Inaugural Cruise goodies?/gifts?

I have never been on an Inaugural cruise before and am wondering if we will get an commemorative goodies? We are going on the Carnival Dream next Sept and very excited.

 

I am just curious if there is anything special that they do in the way of activities?

HAL provides a Delft commemorative plate

RCI gave us a hardbound book regarding the ship for Grandeur.

Solstice didn't give us too much..2 luggage tags and sales brocures.

on our Inagural aboard Liberty of the seas we had something each day...whether it was a hat, bag, frame, dvd, pin, etc...

That's kind of what I was hoping, but won't count on it.

-a draw string backpack when we checked in

-a hat

-a pin

-cruise in review DVD

-photo frame

-C&A bag

 

and my wife thinks there's one more thing but I cant think of it

We were given a piece of green art glass for the Emerald Princess.

My advice is to keep your expectations in check on an inaugural cruise. The cruise lines usually have a VIP cruise prior to the first paid cruise, and that's when all the real festivities take place. There was very little difference between the inaugural cruise of Caribbean Princess and one that we went on a few years later...except that enjoyed the second cruise. The inaugural...not so much.

while we did get quite a few little goodies and they were sure to mention that it was the inagural many times that was about it for the celebrations...like the above poster mentioned...there are so many pre inagurals and celebrations that by the time the inagural comes it truly seems to be just the first revenue cruise
