Hong Kong Overnight

Since no one has answered ...

May I suggest that you really do not need a guide in Hong Kong. Public transportation is safe and efficient, taxis are generally reliable and the distances are minimal. It is one of the easiest cities to do on your own. Grab a decent guidebook and that is all that you will need.

I thoroughly agree with Abosi. We have been to Hong Kong many times and there is no need of using a guide. The MTR is extremely safe and easy to use and the buses are the same.

For a good days outing, catch the bus to Stanley Market, or perhaps alight at Repulse Bay along the way and enjoy a lunch at the hotel there. The bus takes you right round the island and the views are excellent.

You can easily get to the Peak by bus and then funicular and that gives you a wonderful view right over Hong Kong.

Take the tram from one end of Hong Kong Island down to the other end or catch the Star Ferry from Hong Kong Island to Kowloon or vice versa. There is so much to do and it is such an easy city to get around.

Buy an Oyster Card for the two days you are there. The cards are easy to use on all public transport.
