Especially would like to hear from someone who has done these... If you're big into Birds, Asa Wright and the Caroni Bird Sanctuary on the way back down to the Port would be quite a day. I've done both places, several times Large flat-bottomed boats are used to carry boatloads of visitors(and interested locals) thru the labyrinth of Caroni mangrove canals, seen above to see the large flocks of Scarlet Ibis and White Egret as they come in to roost although you'll probably be back on board by the sunset time needed to see the roosting thing. Still, there's lots of other wildlife to see at other times of the day. Asa Wright has seriously-exotic birds, including hummingbirds and indigo honetcreepers with bright yellow legs. If you're an ornithologist, bring your binoculars and checklist!
