thisisjl Posted January 8, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2009 We leave Saturday for our first cruise and will be porting in Grand Turk, St. Maarten, Tortola, and HAL's Half Moon Cay. I've just checked the weather for these ports for next week and I see that every day we are suppose to be in a port it looks like a 20% chance of rain. Is this common Caribbean weather for January or is it just my typical luck? HAHA Thanks!
phoenix_dream Posted January 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 9, 2009 20% chance of rain in a tropical area is generally no big deal - a possibility of a brief shower here or there. Obviously I can't predict for sure, but if this is the forecast you are probably good.
sjram Posted January 10, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 10, 2009 We leave Sunday for a similar cruise and I have been wondering the same thing. Some of the days even have a lightning bolt in the picture. Are these quick showers or are they storms that last awhile? Thanks to anyone who can help! Just trying to figure out how accurate the weather websites are.
