Private Tour of Capri April 26

You don't need a tour guide to see Capri Island. Take the tram up to La Piazzetta. There are plenty of shops there and great places to eat lunch. Also you can do the Blue Grotto from the dock at 1/4 of the cruise ship price. Take a taxi - convertavle (share with another couple) to Via Camerelle. There is a big open market up there and make sure you buy some lemoncello and a Capri sandal for the lady. The island is really small and you really don't need a tour guide to show you around........unless you are loaded with $$$$.

Below is the response I received from Capritime.

Looking to share tour with one or two other couples.

Dear Chris,

Thank you for your e-mail. Capritime has been setting the standard for

excellent service on the island and throughout Italy since 1998, and we

would be delighted to provide you with a private day tour package, one of our exclusive boat tours or charters during your sojourn in the Bay of

Naples.

Below you will find our pricing for our private tours. At this time we do

not offer public tours but you may want to log into www.cruisecritic.com

to see if anyone would like to join you in sharing expenses while still

enjoying a small private tour. A lot of our cruise clients opt to do

this.

Attached for your review, please find our brochures describing our most

requested tours of Capri, the Bay of Naples and Amalfi Coast with pricing

based on two people; please let us know if you find other cruise

passengers interested in sharing your private tour and we'll send you

updated pricing based on your headcount.

Below please find descriptions of our boat tour/charter options with and

without skipper. You will also find information regarding our Limoncello

Demonstration options below:

CAPRI PRIVATE BOAT TOUR

We circumnavigate the entire island during our private island boat tour

and visit the most spectacular grottoes characteristic of the island, such

as the Blue Grotto*, Green Grotto, White Grotto, and around the famous

Faraglioni Rock formations. Provided the seas are calm, we will be able

to go into the Blue Grotto and to climb up into the White Grotto. There

is time for swimming during our boat tour, as well.

Our private island boat tours are in the traditional wooden boats of Capri

called gozzo or lancia. They are both equipped with comfortable cushions,

pillows and a canopy to provide shade. Our boat tours feature light

snacks, refreshments, and an external shower to rinse off after swimming.

The "gozzo" boat has a maximum capacity of 6 guests whereas the "lancia"

can accommodate a maximum of 18 guests. Rates for our private boat tours

with captain, refreshments, light snacks, and fuel are as follows:

gozzo: accommodates 1-6: half-day Euro 175,00 / full-day Euro 300,00

lancia: accommodates 1-12: half-day Euro 250,00 / full-day Euro 350,00

lancia: accommodates 13-15: half-day Euro 300,00 / full-day Euro 450,00

lancia: accommodates 16-18: half-day Euro 350,00 / full-day Euro 500,00

Half-day service is 3 hours and full-day is 6 hours and these rates are

based upon private boat tour for you and your guests(not per person).

Guide services are available upon request.

* Entrance to the Blue Grotto is dependent upon sea/tidal conditions and

entrance fee of Euro 10,00 per person is to be paid in cash directly at

the ticket office prior to entering the cave.

That is very inexpensive if you have 6 people. You need to post on your roll call.
