CruisinMama7 Posted March 9, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 9, 2009 We're traveling to Alaska (first-timers!!! :D:D) from south (Vancouver) to north (Barrow) from 6/15 thru 6/29. With the exception of glacial areas and Denali, will there be any snow left on the mountain tops in the lower elevations during our travels northward? :o I'm curious - for photography purposes. Happy cruising to all... :) Cruisin' Mama
ARRTrain Posted March 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 9, 2009 There should be snow on the mountains. Last summer there was tons of snow left on the mountains, due to a cold summer. A new ice age might becoming, despite what Al Gore is preaching.
anchorage1977 Posted March 9, 2009 #3 Share Posted March 9, 2009 You'll see plenty of snow I believe. We have a decent snow pack going on this year and like AKRR said, it's been pretty cold the last year or so. We usually don't loose our snow on the peaks until July in a normal year. Welcome to Alaska!
kenish Posted March 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted March 10, 2009 A new ice age might becoming, despite what Al Gore is preaching. But he flies on private carbon-producing jets to travel between his lucrative preaching engagements! :)
Starlaker Posted March 10, 2009 #5 Share Posted March 10, 2009 Ah yes, but he buys "carbon offsets" to compensate for his conspicuous consuption. Can anyone here spell hypocrite?
