Military discount question

Recommended Posts

Looks like hit or miss to me also. I used the discount last month, saved me 25 percent on the room. I brought my DD Form 214 to the pier but they didn't ask for it. My brother is 56 years old and he received 30 percent off. We had 5 guys in two rooms, so everyone ended up saving.

Royal Caribbean does not necessarily post the military discount. But when you ask it always seems to be there.

Carnival is much more upfront about it on such sites as *****. They will even honor the same discount for other cabins in your party. Last year we went out of Long Beach and everyone got my discount and we got a X5 upgrade. Figure I saved everyone about $550.

Are the benefits of this the same as "cor_deals_ico.gif Special Pricing?"

Yes, they are those "red" deals.

The Military discount, Senior discount, Resident discount and the newly formed Fire/Police discount are offered near the end of the booking cycle when there is a need to fill the ship.

We booked a last minute Monarch cruise this past January with the Military discount.

You have to be eager and keep checking, as they are "hit and miss" as stated above.

Military discounts are totally hit or miss.

Fortunately we've scored several of them.

I even found one for my son and called him post haste so he could take advantage of it.

It pays to have a retired mom. :)
