Private driver tour Hilo and Kauai?

There are 4 of us who would prefer to have a private driver tour of VNP/Hilo and then Kauai. We have done this before on other cruises, but never at Hawaii.

 

Are there any services like that at available at the docking areas, or has anyone used a driver like that?

Save your money and rent a car in my opinion. Four of us rented a convertible at each port. The maps are good and everything is really easy to reach.

There are cabs waiting at each port that can take you on island tours.

I had a driver approach us if we wanted to do the same things from the ship excursions plus some things more. We had a group of 12 in the van. This was in Hilo at the docks, and then we hired him to take us to Kona as well. It was worth it, but we were in a big van. We paid about 40.00 per person and less for the children.

Check out lavatours.com. They have 6 passenger luxury SUV's and I thought the price was reasonable. I havent used them yet, but have them booked for next month.
