Kagehitokiri Posted March 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 25, 2009 Elite Traveler - $17.5 Million Apartment Aboard The World Luxury Liner March 24, 2009 - The World is the first and only private residential community at sea. This extraordinary 12-deck, 644-foot vessel first set sail in 2002, and officially sold out four years later. As is the case with any private community, select apartments become available for resale from time to time. One such apartment that is now available is Apartment 1110 & 1108, whose more than 4,000 square feet make this the largest apartment onboard, with five double en-suite bedrooms, one double en-suite study bedroom, two living areas, two dining areas, two kitchens, both with laundry facilities, and 150 square feet of verandah space. The apartment is priced at $17.5 million, and can comfortably fit up to 12 people. http://www.theworldsuite.com/ 4BR + 2BR odd they didnt customize, but i guess they wanted to rent it out a lot, so preferred the ability to break down / lock out / etc. price per ft2 is ~$4400 (FS ocean residences seems to run ~$4700 > ~$5100)
jp2001 Posted March 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted March 26, 2009 I'm pretty sure it was "The World Suite" which was only for rent and could be rented has a whole or has 2 smaller appartments (they had many different way to divide it as you can see here: http://www.theworldsuite.com/). Also, on top of the price tag associated with this appartment, I guess the annual charges are 750 000$ or more.
Kagehitokiri Posted March 26, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted March 26, 2009 yeah, the link is in the article, which i quoted. i seem to recall the world or four seasons topping out at ~$500K/yr. if it was the world, youre right it would be even more, because its the top unit plus another unit. aha, looks like ~$700K/yr for this 6BR unit. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=801210
