Will I have any troubles if I fly in on the same day of Embarkation?

If your plane arrives on time and you grab a cab you should have no problem....but should your flight be late then be prepared to wave good by to your fellow pax. My rule of thumb, for what it is worth, if I have to fly to the port city or drive more than 4 hrs to it, I want to be there the day before my cruise, it is just not worth the risk.:)

I would be very hesitant to arrive that late; don't forget you have to check in at the dock 90 minutes to two hours prior departure. Now on a good day with everything going your way, you should have no problems making it from the airport to the pier in that time span; but all it would take is one blip (late plane, slow baggage, traffic tie up, etc.) and as Putt said - you'd be waving goodbye to your ship. Whereabouts in Canada are you flying in from? Surely you can either get an earlier flight or come in the night before.
