Splendour and Smuggling Alcohol/Irons

I just got back from a 2 week cruise on the Splendour. I was sent to the naughty room (Top Hat Lounge, Deck 5) due to something suspicious in my luggage (a 6 pack of bottled diet coke). The line-up was unbelievable but the stash of booze was even bigger. Another pile held irons.

 

So don't even bother trying to disguise your booze. They had me show them each of my bottles to see that the seal was NOT broken. Anything liquid is pulled aside whether it's a plastic pop/soda bottle, scope or whatever - they will take it off you as I saw it happen. Each item is labeled and you would get it back at cruise end - not sure on the items in plastic bottles tho.

 

Your coke/pepsi, etc. will be released to you but it's just not worth the trip to the naughty room for alcohol.

 

I'm sure the Splendour is not the only ship cracking down.
