Napi's Mom Posted April 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 25, 2009 Have anyone taken Ramses Tours for overnight tour. Thank you, Sharon Campbell When on an Oceania Cruise we did an overnight to Cairo from Alexandria, with a tour operator called A weird name, finally remembered it "The first 24 hrs." Picked us up the min. the ship got in (afternoon, earlier would have been nicer) The trip by bus(24 passenger)was very memorable, with police escort blaring sirens. Arrived near dark and since we asked about the "Sound & Light " show, he called ahead to get tickets (extra) IT was really interesting, and after a night in a 3*** hotel ,went to the Pyramids early (7or so)to get ahead of the crowds (all those passengers on the day trip from the Cruise ships!!) We had more leisure time at the Pyramids in Giza to either tour inside (extra charge) or the solar boat museum (extra). Since it was Nov. crowds were much less also, and cooler temps. It was great, also saw the Tut exhibit at Museum in Cairo before heading back. All of this except the extra charges, was less than the ships day tour!! (At that time ['06]130$....sure to be more now):)
