nancydee Posted April 26, 2009 #1 Share Posted April 26, 2009 I was wondering if anyone knows aproximately how long it will take and how much a taxi would be from the Greyhound bus station in Jacksonville to the pier? For those who know me, know I don't fly but I love to cruise.
jagsfan Posted April 26, 2009 #2 Share Posted April 26, 2009 Nancy, I don't know anyone who has taken a taxi from the bus station downtown to the ship, but it should take about a half hour, depending on the time of day. The cruise terminal is east of downtown and across the river, but there is an expressway system that speeds things up. The best and most prevalent cab company in Jax is Gator City Taxi.......their phone is 904-355-8294. They are very reliable. I just called them, and was told the fare would be approximately $20 to $25 USD, and the ride would be 30 to 45 minutes. It really should be less than 45 minutes. I hope you enjoy sailing out of Jacksonville, it's pretty scenic just getting out to the ocean!!! Mimi

SAAdds1 Posted April 26, 2009 #4 Share Posted April 26, 2009 Don't judge our city by what you see at the bus station. Have a great cruise.
jagsfan Posted April 27, 2009 #5 Share Posted April 27, 2009 Don't judge our city by what you see at the bus station.Have a great cruise. Depending on the time of day, downtown could be bustling, or deserted. We do have a lot to see downtown, though.....try riding the Skyway on Friday, go to the Farmers Market in Hemming Plaza, and lunch at Cafe Nola!!!!! Sailing away, the ship passes lovely homes on the south side of the river, and under a most beautiful bridge. Then out past Mayport, a fishing village, past the Naval Air Station, and out through the jetties. A little different from most ports.
