Best option for Whitter to Anchorage transfer?

We'll be arriving in Whitter aboard the Carnival Spirit on 6/17/09. Our flight leaves at 3:00 PM. We'd like to be able to experience at least a little of Anchorage - at least a non-airport lunch. Any suggestions? And we'll be about out of $$ by the time we return, so budget is definitely a factor.

We are using Magic Bus. Keeping our fingers crossed that they will have the rock slide cleared. Their aim date is May 16. Hopefully all will be well.

Carnival transfer is $59. We are riding train $65 each. Check these boards, there is a shuttle for $24, group might get discount, sorry cant remember shuttle co name.

we are on that same cruise. our flights leave Anchorage at 12:30, do you think the Carnival shuttle would get us to the airport on time, or should we try to book something private? if we use the carnival shuttle, can we book it on the ship or should it be done now?

Yes, you can get to your flight on time using Carnival transfers. They will be available for purchase on your ship.

Thanks for the replies. I ended up booking with Alaskan Leopard. They were very responsive and friendly. Should work out well for us.

Check out http://www.anchorage.net/913.cfm prices start $28 per person and they will pick you up or drop off at your location.

Beware of using vans for your transfer, they are not comfortable (from personal experience) as opposted to comfortable mini coaches or large coaches like Premier Alaska Tours uses.
