hospsafe Posted May 5, 2009 #26 Share Posted May 5, 2009 We were originally scheduled for the 8:15 seating. We asked for any time dining but was told it was sold out. They switched us to a 2 top at 6:00 instead which was great. I have done any time dining on Princess and loved it. I think at some point you will more available seating for any time dining. I have yet to be on a Carnival ship that wasn't good for all ages. We have already decided that when we take our little boys on their first cruise it will be on the Sensation. There were people of all ages and sizes on the cruise.
happy40th Posted May 5, 2009 #27 Share Posted May 5, 2009 Thanks my dad likes to have fun but doesn't like things too loud all the time. This cruise works out to be $160 per person cheaper than RC. That's the only line I've ever cruised.
ERICnLISA Posted May 5, 2009 #28 Share Posted May 5, 2009 HEY!! Do you remember what time you docked in Nassau?? We'll be there at the end of the month and wondering if it is any earlier than the 12pm that the itinerary shows. lollylew Posted May 6, 2009 #30 Share Posted May 6, 2009 We will be sailing on her 7/2. How was the Sushi (if you had any). Thanks I didn't see anyone answer your question here so I am just jumping in to answer it. We sailed back in December (before drydock) and had the sushi. YUM! :p The sushi bar is a small little cart I believe next to the casino. Make sure to find it. :)
metarog Posted May 7, 2009 #31 Share Posted May 7, 2009 Anyone, Anyone, Hello Hello I was on this same cruise that got back this past Sunday and IIRC we got to Nassau right at 12 noon. We did the anytime dining and were always seated immediately and got our food super fast... much faster than on previous cruises. We generally eat fairly early (6:15 or 6:30pm) and usually got out by 7:15 or so. Do not miss the 2nd night dinner while in Nassua as the lobster and shrimp were the best I have ever had on a cruise. The halls were among the widest I've seen and the bedding was so nice... this was a really nice cruise for a 3-dayer. The buffet was a bit crowded during lunch in port but otherwise a great weekend. Also go on some of the slides at the waterworks on Lido aft... lots of fun.

CynLovesCrusing Posted May 9, 2009 #39 Share Posted May 9, 2009 I would like some insight into the Serenity deck. Can you really lie in the comfy looking chairs or do they stay full (and hogged) like the ones in the main pool area? Any other info about the area you can share would be great. first_timer2 Posted May 9, 2009 #40 Share Posted May 9, 2009 Hi everyone, We just got back from the Sensation on Thursday. I must say the weather was absolutely beautiful!!!! It was our first time with Carnival (last year was Princess). I will not judge all fleet because of this cruise but I think because this is a short cruise that some aspects have been neglicted. I was talking to others who have sailed Carnival before and was told that the food and rooms are much nicer on the bigger ships. Like I said before, I will not judge Carnival only on this short cruise but I will think twice before taking it for a short cruise again. Another comment I would like to add...this is a FUN SHIP!...people should remember that you don't need to get drunk in order to have fun!!!!! Security had to come at the pool on our 2nd day because there was a group of young adults (late twenties) who were lound and rowdy!!! You should have seen what these people were doing on the last night in the fantasia lounge in front of kids...I was disgusted....! I must say, I'm in my early thirties and I was embaressed for them! A side from that, the cruise was very relaxing and had a great time with my husband!

kruisegirl Posted May 18, 2009 #42 Share Posted May 18, 2009 I need to know how soon you can get off the Sensation in Nassau when it arrives at 12:00. Trying to catch a dive boat as soon as we get there Thanks kruisegirl
Andrew Bowden Posted May 28, 2009 #43 Share Posted May 28, 2009 Great review!!! I have room E-255 booked for the Oct. 1 sailing for a girl's trip (Andrew's DP). Just wondered if the balcony had lounge chairs as well as regular chairs. Also, thanks for the head's up about the blow dryer and fridge.
vtoria98 Posted May 28, 2009 #44 Share Posted May 28, 2009 E255 had a regular chair and a chair that leaned back but it was not a pool deck chair. We had that room 2 weeks after the balconies were added and it was great!
Drew's Wife Posted May 28, 2009 #45 Share Posted May 28, 2009 I will even give kudos to the Maitre D', Freddy. He actually used our names when speaking to us on the second night This was a first for us. My only problem with the dinning room was they did not enforce the dress code. Again, I realize its a 3 day cruise but alot of the people weren't even close. (Unless you count a bathing suit as proper attire.) Could you tell me...I noticed you said "Maitre'd Freddy...Is Maitre'd Goran not on the Sensation anymore? I sure hope he is still there. He always made it very clear that he was traditional when it came to attire in the dining room... Please, please. tell me he hasn't gone to another ship! Also if he is on another ship, does anyone know which one?
