Latitude 20 Posted May 17, 2009 #3 Share Posted May 17, 2009 We would have been more excited if we had been on the repo cruise from San Juan as we'd originally planned.:( We were looking forward to a few days of fun in NYC! But we made the right call to cancel as I got laid off last week and DMIL has to start dialysis and has needed our help the past couple weeks. Keeping our fingers crossed that we can pick up a super-cheap Seattle round-trip cruise to Alaska later this summer! :) Kathi & Leo

ctbusdrivermom Posted May 17, 2009 #9 Share Posted May 17, 2009 We are so excited that we are driving down to the docks to see her. We are sailing in August with friends of mine have never cruised before. DGF has a fear of water and we want to show her how big the boat is to ease her fears. I think she has watched too many movies and she is afraid of ice bergs and sharks. So we think this will be good for her to see the boat first. Howied53 Posted May 18, 2009 #13 Share Posted May 18, 2009 We are on the 24th sailing from Brooklyn and very excited. Our daughter just graduated from St. Johns Law School and passed the bar exam. She has not had a vacation in several years and has never been on a cruise. We have been on several and she has no idea how much fun this is. But, we do! Also, our closest friends are going, just can't wait. Our daughter lives in Brooklyn, just ten blocks from the the Red Hook terminal.

Kre8tiv1 Posted May 18, 2009 #16 Share Posted May 18, 2009 I am typing to you from aboard the CB...getting ready to depart Puerto Rico on her repositioning cruise back to NY. I am personally going to escort her back to NY and makes sure she arrives safe and sound.:D (you can thank me later ;)) We set sail from PR in about 45 mins. so I have to get up to Tradewinds to meet all the new friends I made right here on the roll call board. We had a very active roll call and hope everyone who will be sailing on her after her arrival in NY will keep up the momentum of great roll calls. If you'd like, read the May 17 Repo roll call thread.

Jimjam Posted May 19, 2009 #20 Share Posted May 19, 2009 YES - cruzlvrs - The bus picks us up at Burlingotn, NJ Academy Bus terminal (Weshampton) exit 5 NJ tkp. at about 11:45 am and arrives directly at the pier where porters are there to take your luggage once off the bus directly onto the ship. Cost was $79 pp round trip with free parking.. It's great deal without the hassle of driving and parking at the pier..Used this service several in the past both for departures in Brooklyn and New York City on Holland America. crusdiva Posted May 20, 2009 #22 Share Posted May 20, 2009 What's a "repo cruise"? Did the ship get repossessed??? [blonde moment] Seriously, what is it? Repositioning cruise. Moving the ship from one "home port" to another. In this case the CB is sailing from San Juan to NY to begin her "summer sailings" - roundtrip from NYC to the Caribbean. Colonialdame Posted May 24, 2009 #25 Share Posted May 24, 2009 We are from Virginia and will be on the CB in October. We had planned to drive to Red Hook but noticed that there was a bus from Burlington NJ off the NJ Turnpike. Is that bus available for each Princess Cruise? Any idea of how to get more information? Should we contact Princess directly? This would be a great option for us and we are excited at the possibility of saving driving time and finding our way to the pier.
