I'm a little confused about Horizon Court vs Dinning Room.

Hi Marconoel!

Very simply, the Horizon Court is the buffet (located Lido deck 15) that

has no dress code (other than wearing footwear and some type of shirt)

while the dining room (decks 5 & 6) feature waiter service and a strict

dress code that ranges from casual on day one, to smart casual most

other nights to formal on two nights.

Horizon Court is the fastest and easiest method to get your fill of food.

However, the quality of what is served there is more in line with cafeteria

food. Breakfast seems to be the least favorite of most passengers. For

lunch and dinner the quality of food is better.

The dining room offers better quality food, but you need to be properly

dressed for it, and like a restaurant, it's full service. You can order as

much as you want from the menu if you are really hungry.

Great explantion! I am back in my office now and about to start my work day and what I wouldn't give to be sitting on my balcony right now getting ready for Julius to bring our breakfast! Well there is only one thing to do and that is book another cruise! Which I already started looking into yesterday!

Lobez, what time did you go to the dining room for dinner, and did you have the same waiter?

We went to the dining room each night around 6:30, give or take a few minutes. The first night was the worst, as I expected. They only had one dining room open early as they had the life boat drill at 8:00pm, after which they opened the other dining room. I expected a wait this night and it really didn't bother me too much. What did bother me somewhat was that dining reservations would not take a reservation for 2. I know that sitting with others for dinner can be a great experience, but it is also hit or miss. This was the first vacation my wife and I had without our children in 16 years and wanted to spend our time together. We did not have the same waiter each night. I found the service in the Coral dining room to be better that the Island dining room.

Some nights at this time there was no wait for a table for 2. Most nights the wait was 15-30 minutes. Overall not that bad, but reservations would have been nice.

The Pub Lunch in the Crown Grill on sea days was great.

One note about the breakfast buffet, if you want eggs cooked a special way all you have to do is ask. I asked for 2 poached eggs one morning and was told that it would be no problem, but I would have to wait a few minutes. The poached eggs were fine.

I would recommend a sit down breakfast, especially on the day you disembark. It is much more relaxed and the food and service is better. The buffet on the last morning is always a zoo.

If the only critizm I can give is the reservations for 2, thats not bad. Overall this was a very nice and relaxing trip. Thought the dining room food was very good and overall the service was good.

My family was on this cruise as well. Breakfast was ok, not great, just ok. Dinners were better.

My complaint is the service in at dinner. We had a very nice waiter - Henrick. Worked very hard and was very pleasant. He basically was working 7 or 8 tables alone. Missed a show because we finished our meal after 10:30. It took forever to be served. We only saw our bus boy maybe once or twice. Of course he came by on the last night to get his tip. Here's the tip...trying working for it!

Our room attendant Nick - is not worth talking about. We had two mini-suites and I felt his service was sub par. I asked to have extra towels in the beginning of the cruise and he did not leave any. We were lucky to get clean ones at all. We left the dirty ones on the floor (as told to) and I think he folded them back up on several days.

I cut my foot(nothing major), there was a little bit of blood on my sheet. If I was home, I would have washed it. He never changed my sheets. He had to have seen it.

The casino staff was excellent. Spent most of my extra time there.

Had a very nice time playing on their money.

The pursers desk was very busy, however, they were very nice to deal with.

Great Review.

As a future first-timer (leaving Aug 4, 2009), I'm a little confused about Horizon Court vs Dinning Room.

Having good meals is very important to me: breakfast, lunch, and dinner

Would you mind explaining the difference? - Thank you

Just a more relaxed atmosphere, servers, menu. :D

Do remember that there is NO dress code for eating breakfast or lunch in the dining rooms.

Yep... that's why we mostly eat in the dining rooms...

We are on this cruise on 6/29 and I have a question about shows. Do they ever do the shows BEFORE dinner for people who eat late, or AFTER dinner for those who eat earlier. That's what they've been doing on RC and we found it great to go to a show at 7-7:30 pm and then follow it into dinner.

Yes... there will be two shows... an early and a late one.
