Zuiderdam Balcony Cabin

Hello,

I will be sailing on the Zuiderdam in January. I am wondering if it's better to book a balcony cabin forward or one that is in the middle of the ship (where they are tucked in more that the forward ones)

 

Maybe it doesn't make a difference but what are the pros and cons of each.

the ones in the middle have the more shallow balconies on Deck 5 but the ones in front would have more motion. What class balcony do you have? This would be out of Ft Lauderdale?

The closer to the midship cabins will rock less in a storm.....although it takes a really big sea to rock that boat....it is a well stabilized ship. I was on the Navigation Deck 2 cabins back from the bridge and the balcony was just fine and the rocking barely noticeable.

Right now we are booked in a VF guarentee but I am open to suggestions, and I am thinking about just choosing a cabin...reading these boards makes me a little nervous about booking a guarentee.

Most of the VA-VF cabins have clear walls on the verandas, but some farther forward have non-transparent ones, which forces you to stand on the veranda to see anything....

VDs have a slightly deeper balcony than others.

Midship on deck 5 your downward view is partially obstructed by lifeboats if you are standing at the rail. Seated you would barely notice them, as they are slightly below deck level.
