Pride of America - Guaranteed Balcony?

We are booked for the Pride of American on October 9th. We decided on a Guaranteed Balcony. Has anyone done this and what can be the worse? The price was $220 less per person so we are taking the gamble...

Thanks for your help!

We did this and it worked out great! We started with an inside cabin for our original reservation. Then, there was a sale and balcony guarantee was actually cheaper than the inside we had booked. We figured, why not, and switched. When the cabins were assigned, we were on deck 7, right over the Mardi Gras Lounge. We thought it might be noisy, but hey, we were going to have a balcony, so were just planning on taking our earplugs and enjoying ourselves! THEN, another sale and we were able to change to a nice quiet cabin on deck 9, this time, we were able to pick our own cabin! We are leaving in 12 days and are thrilled with the cabin we will have. You have awhile until your final payment is due, so just keep watching those prices. You may get lucky like us and get to upgrade and pick your own cabin. If not, you have a balcony cabin and you will be on a cruise. How bad could it be?????? Have fun!

We booked under the military rate so I think it will be a 'wait and see'. Like you said though we have plenty of time.

I really think that any balcony on this ship will be a good one especially for the type of cruise where we're not at sea but more like using the ship as a floating hotel.

Hope you have a wonderful trip.

Pass on any pointers your learn.

ENJOY ... Bon Voyage!
