bigwally Posted June 10, 2009 #1 Share Posted June 10, 2009 As I've been planning for our Baltic I have, of course, counted on the old standby mapping sites for vital information - Google Maps, which has still proved the best for many types of information, and Microsoft's Live Maps (now Bing Maps) with it's very cool Bird's Eye View feature. However, I have also found a couple of country-based sites that have been very useful: Finn - a map site based in Norway. Aerial views of Oslo (and quite probably other Norwegian towns) that allow you to zoom in closer and have much better clarity than those found on Google and Bing. http://kart.finn.no/ Eniro - a map site based in Sweden. Very good Bird's Eye views of Stockholm. Much better than those on Bing. http://kartor.eniro.se/. Click on 'Utsikt' for the birds-eye view. Anyone know of any others for cities on the Baltic routes? Edit: I remember another one - Wikimapia. I didn't play with it much, but the beta version had very good aerials of Arhus and, as a bonus, certain places of interest are highlighted on the maps. http://wikimapia.org/beta
