Those who have done B2B - question

Recommended Posts

Ok, now thinking of doing a B2B. This is a surprise trip to celebrate my husband's retirement.

I think it would be fun to tell him I booked a 4 day cruise, and then refuse to get off at the end.

Questions, does your Seapass show it is B2B?

What if I booked different rooms for each cruise?

Is there any price break for B2B?

Any thoughts and suggestions appreciated.

Thanks.

We've doen one B2B and have one planned for 2010...here's what we experienced:

1. SeaPass does not show it as a B2B. You will receive a different SeaPass for the second week, as the first week's account will be cleared.

2. If you booked different rooms, the room steward will move all of your items for you to the new room. We had and will have the same room, so that really makes it easy.

3. Price break? HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. That's a big NO.

Depending on the ship, the port, and the itinerary, you may or may not have to disembark and then re-board between the two cruises. You SHOULD receive instructions in your stateroom the night before the end of the first cruise explaining the procedure.

If you booked these as 2 separate cruises, it helps to let Guest Relations know during the first cruise that you are also booked on the second cruise so they can identify you as a B2B.

Enjoy- we really like having the second cruise (even tho we have to go thru a second muster drill!) to look forward to on the last night of the first cruise.

We did this on NOS and really loved it, and we also did not have the same cabin for both cruises. We packed up everything( we did not want the room steward doing that), and he moved it to the new cabin. What he told us to do was also helpful. He told us to introduce ourselves to the new cabin steward while on the first leg of the cruise and tell him about b2b, and ask him to finish cleaning that room first. This way you can get into it before the 1 pm time most others can. Also, you all meet in a lounge and at about 10:15 you are escorted off the ship and do customs and then they walk you right back on. You get your new sea pass the night before. You do have to have it with you when you leave the ship since it is then activated again with a new picture when you board again for the 2nd cruise. ENJOY!

A big advantage of being on a b2b is not having to rush off to get to see each production show and get to do other things. But if one person does not know they are staying for the b2b there may not be that happening. I would also write to rci and ask what the shows/entertainers will be for both cruises and then you can make sure you get to see what you want and do what you want each cruise.

Consecutive cruising just got better

If you are a consecutive cruiser, you're in for a nice surprise with all the great benefits we're offering. Enjoy the convenience of having your SeaPass account information automatically transferred, your dining preferences noted and set for your next voyage. Review the Sneak Peek Compass containing information about cruise entertainment lineups so you may begin to plan your time with us. Enjoy other exclusive benefits like priority tender tickets*, dining courtesy calls and special events. We want you to have a seamless cruise vacation experience.

*where available

They fail to say anything about disembarking the ship on turnaround day or about customs and immigration. :( Each port handles a consecutive cruiser differently.

They are treated as two individual cruises each with its own booking number. If booking directly through RCI, you must book through the b2b desk. If booking through a TA, then they must book through the b2b desk.

With the new system for "consecutive cruises" (formerly known as b2b) they must know on the ship that you are going to be staying on for the following cruise............as the procedure for consecutive cruisers is slightly different than before. All credit card information and SetSail Pass information is carried over to the next cruise after the account for the first cruise has been closed out. You can change credit cards by going to Guest Relations. You only need to print off the first SetSail Pass for the first cruise.

We just returned from a consecutive cruise on Radiance. We received instructions in our stateroom and had a meeting prior to the end of the first cruise with all the other consecutive cruisers telling us what to do on turnaround day (end of the first cruise). It was a smooth transition from one cruise to the next.

We had a nice lunch on turn around day in the main dining room. This is only done if there are a lot of folks doing consecutive cruises. We had over 150 people.
