Has anyone done the Screaming Eagle Jet Boat Tour lately? Is it worth the money for an hour?

I would also like to know about this excursion. We did a similar boat ride in Labadee and loved it.

My 18 year old son and his friend did it during the June 6-13 Glory cruise and loved it. They said that the captain told them things about the island and pointed things out (while they were not spinning around!). They thought it was well worth it.

Thanks for that information. I'm along, long way from being 18 years old so I hope it's not too much for older folks! The one we did on Labadee went very fast but I felt safe the entire time.

We just did the Screaming Eagle last Saturday, July 4th and had a blast. There were 5 of us (4 teenagers plus me - 48 yrs) so it's safe to say that a wide range of ages will enjoy this. Steelcurtain2009 is correct that the captain does stop periodically and talk about the island and point out things of interest.

 

The rest of the time you are going very fast, doing 360 degree spins in multiple directions, and doing high speed stops when the captain suddenly puts the boat into reverse while you're zipping along the water. The captain does warn you with hand signals before he does any spins or high speed stops so you can prepare for them. You will get very wet and everything you bring with you will be very wet but it was a lot of fun.
