I have a full Briritish passport and will fly direct from the UK to Vancouver. Do I need visa to enter Canada ?

I board the Volendam in Vancouver for my Alaska cruise. I think I will need a visa to enter the US or will VWP completed form cover me ?

Any advice will be appreciated.

While you don't need a visa, as a British passport holder, to visit Canada for under 6 months,

you do need to now register for the USA visa waiver program before you enter the USA - You should do this online before you travel.

Find out more info here:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/temp/without/without_1990.html

Visa formalities for the USA generally happen when you board your ship ex Canada, so if you get on at Vancouver, it will happen prior to you boarding your ship...

Have a great trip...

I have filled out the vwp form and it's been approved. I will keep a printed copy of the form saying it's been approved with my passport.

As for Canada, I am glad to know that no visa is needed.

Thanks again for the advice.
