St. Maarten

Does anyone know why St Maarten was replaced with Grand Turks during December 2009 on the Liberty? They have changed the whole itinerary for the December 26th sailing.

There has already been some discussion here about that....with several suggestions.....nobody really knows.

My theory (and a few others) is they need to do some work on the pier and docking facilities for the expected arrival of Carnival Dream. I'm sure there is some tweaking necessary and perhaps this is the time.

Not sure why, but I am sure that it will not have anything to do with pier construction. It will be finished in November according to the St Maarten Daily Herald.
