sddiver Posted December 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted December 17, 2004 Would be the ship for him. They have been reporting huge swells on the North Shore of Hawaii this week. The Infinity is on it's way from Hawaii due in San Diego on Monday. A Storm in the Gulf of Alaska is sending big waves accross the North Pacific. Here in So Cal we are having sets of 10+ foot waves on the beaches this week. Even the Mercury cruisers that returned today enjoyed the ride up from Baja in those seas. Where is that guy anyway.. wvufan Posted December 18, 2004 #3 Share Posted December 18, 2004 Here's a link to a cam on board the Infinity (as well as ways to see other ships). I think it refreshes every 60 seconds.Doesn't look too rough now, but it will be interesting to follow the ship home. http://www.kroooz-cams.com/infinity1/12-5-04.htm OOOEEE:D :D Bob and Phyl
SDChargerFan Posted December 18, 2004 #4 Share Posted December 18, 2004 That was me and I was thinking of a Hawaii cruise next year. I will have to do some research to find the times that offer the best possibility of high seas. Thanks!!!
SDChargerFan Posted December 18, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 18, 2004 sddiver, thanks for the info. I can't help but notice your name and wonder if you are also from San Diego, and if so, where do you dive? I do not dive much in San Diego, but do up north around Laguna Beach. sddiver Posted December 19, 2004 Author #6 Share Posted December 19, 2004 SDCF, I do live in San Diego, since 1979. I first got certified here in 1992, did a lot of local diving, La Jolla Shores/Cove, Kelp beds ect. The better diving is out in the Channel Island though, San Clemente is very good and the nearest one. I have some friends who had a sailboat we would cruise the islands on and dive, dive, dive. They have since sold their house in Coronado and moved the boat north to Santa Cruz. Now we dive mostly in the Caribbean, old age and warm water mix much better than the cold water around here. Love your internet name- BTW- I've been a Chargers season ticket holder since 1986. Go Bolts Rich
apfra. Posted December 19, 2004 #7 Share Posted December 19, 2004 I am a native of San Diego. It just so happens that I am visiting Infinity for the day tommorow. I will ask the crew if this rumor of rough waters was true.
