Dawn in Bermuda - Heritage or Kings Wharf?

Hi everyone ... we are cruising on Dawn 7/12/09 NYC to Bermuda. Can someone confirm whether we dock in Heritage Dockyard or Kings Wharf? We just made reservations for snorkel excursion with Jessie James, and they believe our ship will be at Heritage Dockyard, however NCL's itinerary says Kings Wharf. Jessie James says they are in same area just about 5 minutes apart. If anyone can confirm this, thank you soooo much!!!!

Happy Cruising!!

Yes, they are 200 yards from one another, so if walking is not an issue, it won't matter for you. I was on the Dawn last week and we were the only ship at the Dockyards and we docked at Heritage Wharf.

For the June 7 cruise we were supposed to be at Heritage Wharf, but the Spirit was delayed in leaving and was still docked to Heritage Wharf when we arrived. So we switched over to King's Wharf and the Russian Tall Ship docked at Heritage Wharf later that day. Heritage and Kings are just opposite ends of a "T" shaped pier; just a few minutes walk between the two. Also the bus and ferry stop is where the bottom end of the "T" pier is attached to the main land of the Dockyards.

Heritage Wharf is the new wharf built adjacent to King Wharf at the West End, at the old naval dockyards. The Dawn and Spirit are too large to dock at St. George or Hamilton. Bermuda decided to build a second wharf at the West End due to environmental concerns as an answer to the fact that ships were becoming too large for their other ports.

Bermuda wouldn't have built Heritage Wharf without a ten year agreement with NCL or another cruise line. NCL reached an agreement to send two large ships over the next ten years during the summer season, with an exclusive from Boston. So NCL this year has two large ships doing Bermuda, one from New York City and one from Boston.

In the past NCL had used two smaller ships using the other ports. But with these larger ships the only place to dock is at the West End. Since NCL signed the agreement, NCL usually gets the newer wharf, Heritage Wharf....

We were on the CB in early June. We docked at the new pier HW with the RCCL Explorer at KW the older pier. We were in an aft cabin so could come out on our balcony and look right onto the Explorer. The piers are right next each other and about equal distance from the ferry terminal and bus stops. Being aft, we could look out and see the ferry terminal and bus stops clearly.

There was a Big Ferry to Hamilton leaving right off of the new pier next to the ship. The trolley around the dockyard however stops in front of th KW pier and does not come down to HW pier.

You can walk from pier to pier with no problem. 14ersco decribes th piers perfectly as a "T".
