Can You Cash a Check On Board?

Recommended Posts

We are first time cruisers. Can you tell me if we will be able to cash a check inboard ship?

Assuming you have a credit card on file with the ship, if you need US dollars, you can draw money with your ship/room card at the front desk -- there is a 3% charge.-- it will billed to your credit card at the end of the cruise along with other things you have charged while on board -- drinks, tips, tours and so on.

With the internet connectivity, I don't see why one can't make an ACH deposit to HAL's corporate account. This might be very useful on a long cruise or world cruise where one has money periodically being deposited to their account, and they don't want to cash in investments to carry large amounts of cash or travelers' checks around for months.

An alternate way would be to use the internet to keep cash flowing into a credit card account, as fast as HAL takes it out!
