RLPro_Sfo Posted July 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 16, 2009 Hi All! This is my first post. Thanks in advance for helping and for everything I've learned here so far! My September cruise ends at Civitavecchia on a Sunday. Do you think it is possible to travel to Capri and arrive at a decent time for an overnight stay? What is the earliest/latest I can expect to get off ship? And any ideas for easiest method of travel between Civitavecchia and Capri? jstducky Posted July 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 16, 2009 Welcome to Cruise Critic! I haven't personally done the route you're looking at, but here is some info that might be useful. You can take the train from Civitavecchia to Naples... here is the website: http://www.ferroviedellostato.it/homepage_en.html type in from: civitavecchia, to: napoli, pick the date and the time. I chose the random date of Sunday, September 13th. 08:59 depart Civi 10:28 change stations at Roma Termini 13:05 arrive Napoli 04:06 length of journey cost 1st/2nd class 55,80 € 44,40 € 11:15 Civi 11:58 change trains at Roma Termini 14:05 Arrive Napoli 02:50 length of journey cost 1st/2nd class 67,00 € 51,30 € as you can see, one is more expensive than the other and both require a change of trains in Rome once you get to Napoli, you'd take the hydrofoil over to Capri here is a website for the hydrofoil schedule Napoli - Capri: http://www.capri.com/en/orari-traghetti there is a 2:00 pm or 2:40 pm hydrofoil to Capri. the hydrofoil takes approximately 50 minutes and costs 17,00 Euros per person. so it appears that the you could, in theory, arrive to capri between 3 - 4 pm
