Maineac Posted July 18, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 18, 2009 Wondering if they limit the number of evenings one can make reservations at LT. Cheers, Judy
duct tape Posted July 18, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 18, 2009 It depends how fully booked the ship is.
whylion Posted July 18, 2009 #3 Share Posted July 18, 2009 They let you make one sure reservation and then wait list you for additonal ones. They fufill later reservations once everyone who wants to go once has had a turn. They call your cabin on the day of the provisional booking to let you know if they have a table for you. We were able to go twice on a 9 day cruise on the Shadow without a problem, but that's all we tried for so beyond that I don't know.
meow! Posted July 18, 2009 #4 Share Posted July 18, 2009 If they don't call you the evening of your waitlisted reservation, then call them an hour or two before dinner time and ask them. On our 15 day Panama Canal voyage in December, 2007, we got two firm reservations and a third time through wait listing. There were 300+ passengers on board the Shadow. They take 50 diners per evening on a 382 capacity ship, so if it is nearly full, on average you get in once a week. Since not everyone wants it, and the ship may not be full, you likely get more than that. They just want to have some fair opportunity for anyone who wants. The limit of 50 passengers is due to the small size of the kitchen, which is only one-sixth the size of the main restaurant. Apparently, it takes much more space to prepare for dinner than buffet breakfast/lunch.

GlobalCurious Posted July 30, 2009 #6 Share Posted July 30, 2009 This will be my first SS cruise aboard the Cloud. I see that reservations are required for dinners at LA TERRAZZA. Is there also a fee, or surcharge, or is it simply that reservations are required?

kpercy Posted February 21, 2010 #10 Share Posted February 21, 2010 We just returned from the WIND and dined in LT on 4 nights on a 10 night cruise with a full inventory. We could have dined more often. LT used to be really popular when they had themed nights and most part it was difficult to dine on more than one occasion. Now its changed. Its all Italian dining and the menu is generally the same each night. Whilst generally full each night I find the demand is not as it used to be. chickens Posted February 21, 2010 #11 Share Posted February 21, 2010 Just been on Silverwind and dinned in La Terraza, the menu does not change at all, so you soon get bored with it.
Rare TLCOhio Posted February 21, 2010 #12 Share Posted February 21, 2010 i would love to see a menu too. first timers voyage 2020, june 23 venice to monte carlo. YES! Would like to see any scans of the menu for La Terazza. This will be our first cruise on Silversea after doing cruises on Seabourn in 2006 and Crystal in 2008. We'll be on the July 1-16 cruise from Copenhagen along the Norway Coast, seeing the fjords, Land of the Midnight Sun, etc. On this long of a cruise, it would have been nice to have had the various different Italian theme menus for the various regions of Italy. Apparently, that won't be it. We'll have to suffer accordingly! THANKS! Enjoy! Terry in Ohio
