Poohb Posted July 25, 2009 #1 Share Posted July 25, 2009 Does anyone have info on what to see or do 'locally' in Cherbourg? Thanks.
Fblack Posted July 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted July 25, 2009 We took the opportunity to go to Mont St. Michel from Cherbourg. Friends rented a car and went to the D-Day beaches and museum. You really should consider one of these options. Our ship docked across the water from the main part of town. A few people went there. It's just like many larger French ports. Nothing spectacular. But you can spend a few hours walking around.
Poohb Posted July 26, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted July 26, 2009 Thanks Fblack. We did a private/all day Normandy tour; it was fabulous. We'll look into Mont St. Michel.

Poohb Posted August 17, 2009 Author #5 Share Posted August 17, 2009 We had a cc group, large enough for a bus, driver & guide. It was an all day tour leaving from LeHavre. We actually met an RC bus at 2 of the stops and ppl wanted to know if we were 'with' them. We paid ~1/3 the price of RC and stopped at Pointe du Hoc, Amer. Cemetery, Omaha Beach, Arromanche and Honfleur. Here are our pictures
