Juneau on Sundays

Hi,

Our ship will be in Juneau on a Sunday. Wondering if much closes down (independent excursions, shops, buses, restaurants, etc.) or is is pretty much like any other day? Thanks.

Nothing closes except government offices and banks.

Believe me all of the shops, excursions, etc are open. Since Alaska has such a short cruising period from May-Sept. they do want the business. Do not worry, have a great time.

Unless you are going towards the end of september, all the shops should stay open even on Sunday.

I have ran across one or two shops which close on Sunday on our cruises, but definitely rare. One was a soap shop I was going to just pop into for a second. Very surprised to see find it closed especially as it was between the tram and downtown Juneau... a highly traveled tourist area. No big deal as Juneau certainly has plenty of registers cha-chinging on Sundays!:)

Was that the Glacier Smoothie shop? I found it at 6:03 p.m. - 3 minutes after it closed! I'll get there earlier next year. :)

It very well may have been. If it was, it is closed on Sunday, ships or no ships!!!:)

My much beloved grand-daddy would've told me I had no business shopping on Sunday anyway and keeping those shopkeepers away from church!;)
