  1. Hello @Donbar and welcome to the Cruise Critic message boards! The Cruise Critic website and the message boards are both great resources for new as well as experienced cruisers and we are so glad you found us! Please feel free to browse the message board categories list for our various forums. Click here Cruise Critic Community. I suggest you put the link in your browser's Favorites for quick and easy access in the future. Please read a few threads in the different forums to get a feel for what each forum is about. Make sure you read any pinned threads (aka Stickies) on the top of the first page of threads in most forums. You will find very important instructions or information there. In your case you will want to research our Ports of Call - Alaska forum. Please remember the following portion from the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships: Browse Before You Post Browse a topic first to see if your question has already been asked or answered by someone else. Also, many of the major cruise lines forums have a FAQ (Frequently Asked Question) topic that has been created by our members. Give that a try first. Browsing is your #1 best resource! Please post your messages in an appropriate topic so that you'll receive the best possible response. It is very time consuming to move misplaced messages that are in the wrong topics. Anytime you need to start a new thread on a forum, first make sure you are in the correct forum for your topic. Word your new thread title in a way to help the members know exactly the information you seek. This greatly helps the members browsing through the thread titles and if they know the information, they will post a reply to you. Also, it is best to limit each inquiry to only one topic such as one cruise line, one ship, one port of call, etc. and of course, on the correct forum. You will get more replies that way. Be sure to mention your cruise line, ship, port or sail date in your message if that sort of information will help your fellow Cruise Critic members help you. Once you book your cruise, you need to find and post on the Cruise Critic Roll Call thread for your specific line, ship and sail date. That is where you will find fellow Cruise Critic members sailing with you! Please read What is a Roll Call? Everything you Need to Know and How To: Create A New Roll Call. For more information about our famous Roll Calls, please read the Roll Calls and Our Policy Regarding Facebook and Roll Calls sections in the Guidelines. We also have the following Cruise Critic article you might enjoy: 8 Reasons to Join a Cruise Critic Roll Call The specific Roll Call thread for your cruise is the ONLY place on the Cruise Critic message boards where you and your fellow Roll Call thread members are allowed to post personal ads about sharing private tours, excursions or transportation with each other to save money. There is a "captive audience" there since you are all sailing together! Your fellow Roll Call thread members may have important information posted in your Roll Call thread. Especially those that may have sailed your line, ship or itinerary before. Also, they may have already posted share requests that may interest you. Roll Calls are for people to get to know one another before their cruise. Therefore, there will be all kinds of discussion! Once you locate the Roll Call thread for your specific line, ship and sail date if one is already created, first read through the whole thread to get to know the other Cruise Critic members sailing with you. Then use the dark blue Reply to this topic button to join the Roll Call by posting an introductory post about yourself on the Roll Call thread. When done with your message, click the dark blue Submit Reply button. If you want to address a particular post already in the thread, be sure to use the Quote feature on that post as I did yours above. That way all will be aware of what your post concerns. You type your message UNDER the light blue quote box then click the dark blue Submit Reply button. If the member you quoted has used the Follow feature on the thread, they will get a notification that you have replied to their post. If a Roll Call thread for your specific line, ship & sail date has NOT been created, please feel free to create it! Just follow the directions in How To: Create A New Roll Call. Then sit back and wait for your fellow Cruise Critic members sailing with you to join in by posting on the thread. They will appreciate you starting the Roll Call! And don't worry about any responsibilities in starting a Roll Call thread. Roll Calls belong to everyone; there is no designated leader or owner. It does not matter who started the thread. If you ever need technical help in regard to using the Cruise Critic message board software, go to the Need Help Using the Forums? Check Here! forum. You will see a large amount of "How to..." pinned threads toward the top of the forum's first page. Also, browse through the threads in the forum looking for threads of interest. You will probably find your fellow Cruise Critic members have already posted questions and received answers that may be of interest to you. So sorry this is so long, but I sincerely hope this will be helpful to someone new to posting on our message boards. We are glad to have you aboard Cruise Critic! Happy sails, Host Kat
  2. The Administrator will review your email when they can. I say "when they can" because all e-mails to Cruise Critic are answered in order of receipt. With currently 1.9 million international members sending e-mails 24/7 from all over the world, please be patient for any action. Also in this case, they may be investigating the current software to see if duplicate user name accounts can be merged. If not, they may be waiting for results from the IT team that may be trying to tweak the software. Just guessing here, but they may need to have that answer before they can answer you. Please remember Hosts/Moderators are non-paid volunteers that work the boards when their real life permits. Most paid Administrators work regular weekday business hours Monday thru Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and do have vacation and sick days. Hang in there! Host Kat

  4. Thank you for your kind words! I am sorry you feel "this issue is being hidden on this board". However, this IS the correct place for the issue. Please note the following appearing on the first page of this forum: Note: This area is intended only for questions and answers relating to technical assistance in using these message boards. Please do not post general cruise-related questions or Roll Calls here. This IS a technical issue regarding the message boards. The correct party has been notified with the tag. Also, please remember discussion of the management of this Community is not allowed on any of the boards. Please note the following from the Guidelines: "... Discussion of the management of this community is not allowed on the forums..." "... However, we would be happy to address any concerns you have via email. LauraS Senior Manager, Community community@cruisecritic.com ..." Again, please feel free send your email with your questions/comments/feedback to LauraS, Senior Manager, Community at community@cruisecritic.com. Again, please send the email from your Cruise Critic email address of record and be sure to mention your Cruise Critic user name. Please remember the Hosts are non-paid volunteers and work the boards when their real life permits. Most Administrators work regular weekday business hours. Host Kat Edited to add: Note an oldie but goodie thread from 2023 on this forum regarding a previous pop up problem: What is with the annoying pop up?

  6. Hello @Lisas mom and welcome back to Cruise Critic! I see it has been a while since you have posted. Thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising. Your inquiry concerns cruise parking in Boston and is off topic there. To help you out your new thread has been moved to the East Coast Departures forum where it will be on topic. The majority of your fellow Cruise Critic members that have sailed from there frequent this forum and provide feedback here. 9. FYI to all reading this thread, Numerous posts have been removed due to being off topic thread drift aka hijacking, mentioning a TA or some other source/venue for cruise purchase, and containing quotes of removed posts. This is a friendly reminder regarding the title of this thread, "Post CRUISE LINE Single Supplement/Solo Bargains HERE". The topic is bargains offered by the CRUISE LINES only... NOT travel agents/agencies (online, brick & mortar, big box, etc.), promoters of hosted group cruises for singles/solos or any other source/venue for cruise purchase. Please see the Travel Agent Recommendations and Advertising is Not Allowed sections in the Guidelines we all agreed to follow when registering for our free Cruise Critic memberships. In this thread, this also means no screen shots of cruise bargains from any website other than a cruise line website. Perhaps a copy/paste of the first post by cruisinryan on the previous thread with the same title will be helpful: A thread for single supplement/solo bargains is very helpful for solo cruisers. 🙂 There used to be one, but it disappeared 😕 ...maybe it got too big. So let's start another one and see what happens. 😄 Post all those great deals everyone! 😄 But remember, you can't mention specific travel agencies, just general info like: "Cruise line .... currently has good prices for solo occupancy on .... sailing". Note the above states general info for cruise line, ship name and sail date are all that has been requested. Please feel free to add the itinerary or info regarding the cruise that will be helpful to those waiting with bated breath for the next bargain to appear on this thread. And yes, there will be times where there will be the need for additional posts requesting & receiving clarification about a previous bargain posted in this thread. However, please be considerate of your fellow Cruise Critic members. Posting chit chat (off topic thread drift aka hijacking) within a thread is boring to some readers and wastes their time. Especially for the 217 members Following this thread at this time. Everyone reading this thread only wants to know about the latest CRUISE LINE single supplement bargains. This is NOT a thread for "discussion" as are other Cruise Critic threads. I sincerely hope this will be helpful to all and thanks in advance for everyone's cooperation. Happy sails, Host Kat
  10. Prior to October 2018 when we switched software from vBulletin to Invison, a member's duplicate accounts could be merged into one account. That way the member could keep the user name they wanted as well as their post count & original join date. I do not know if it can still be done with the current software. Please feel free to send an email to help@cruisecritic.com including both your user names and the email addresses of record currently on each. Ask if your duplicate user name accounts can be merged with our current software. Be sure to state which user name and email address of record you want to keep. Hopefully the two accounts can be merged, and you will continue to be Lois R as well as keep your post count, badge, original join date and Member Title. When it was done before, all previous posts made under the unchosen user name would change to the chosen user name. However, any posts containing quotes of unchosen user name posts would still show the unchosen user name on the quote. The MA may be due to the first two letters in the email address of record on your new account. Good luck! 🤞🍀
  11. I will tag your thread to @CC Help Michell, our UGC Content Coordinator. But have you checked to see if your current hotmail Cruise Critic email of record is correct? IIRC, your Cruise Critic email address of record is where an auto reply from the reset process would have been sent.
  12. Two threads were merged into one thread on another forum and then moved to this forum where it was more on topic.
  13. Hello @marty playstead Thank you for your new thread on the Ask a Cruise Question forum! However, it is the forum for general questions regarding cruising.
