Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Thank you for that review. We will have the GS on 17 Starboard with the JS next door. our college Kids and one of their friend are getting the JS so they should be grateful no matter what! Interesting that the JS on 16 has a deeper balcony. I stayed away from 16 bc thought it might be dark due to overhang. Either way I feel very lucky that we got both those suites for the price of one Sky JS now... Very excited for Icon. long wait but looking forward to it. Have a great time on the rest of your cruise.
  2. @tall-cruiser, how did you like deck 17 and the suite area? Did you think the JS was enough if it is only going to be for 2 people? Like you mentioned, I've heard that while other class ship JS are much roomier for up to 4, the Icon sky JS is really tight when you open the sofabed. Wonder if the other JS are bigger? How was your cruise? Did you enjoy Icon in general, cabin aside? eager to hear your thoughts.
  3. Didn't go yet. Have to wait until next march...Arggh. Meanwhile living vicariously through all of you enjoying Icon before us.
  4. I'm eager to learn what the differences will be between Icon and Star...
  5. You can walk in the lobby, look around and tell them you are an architecture buff from out of town they'll let you wander around the lobby. They may not be doing any formal tours but it is gorgeous to walk through...
  6. Hi If you are still looking at this, Thank you for your review of Odyssey. As a lifetime NYer, if you love architecture you cannot miss the Woolworth Building. It's down near the Freedom tower, oculus, etc. Woolworth building is also called "the Cathedral of Commerce". You can see gargoyles of the people that built it using nickles and dimes. The upper floors are now residences, but the lobby is one of the most beautiful anywhere. Here is a short video about it: https://nylandmarks.org/explore-ny/the-woolworth-building/
  7. This is what I just read: cancelling some excursions, but not the Labadee stop. But better safe... https://www.cruisehive.com/royal-caribbean-cancelling-shore-tours-at-troubled-destination/125912
  8. I just read through a few of your reviews, including this one. Middle of a work morning and I am brought to tears by the grace your family seemed to show with the loss of your Ally. Have no words that you haven't heard before, but reading your latest live on Oasis it continues to impress how your family has thrived yet still keeps your little one in your heart.
  9. Have a great cruise! Following along to get my cruise fix until we jump on our quick 5 day Independence from Miami next week. Spring break cruise with two other families and four 16 yo girls! BTW my daughter is over my shoulder asking if your son is going on our cruise🙄. Back off Samantha!
  10. Love your English Setter! Have had Irish Setters and love them too. Setters are the best
  11. Seriously? Have you heard of Adventure Ocean? That's exactly what it is: babysitting on a cruise so both kids and parents can enjoy. All built in to the price.
  12. Know this is a while ago, but the new amped JS 1106 was great w huge balcony
  13. Hate to say it, but that does make the Crown's Edge a little more appealing for a fee. That video is priceless!
