ask2112 Posted October 21, 2010 #2 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Flowrider is free unless you buy private lessons. Soda does cost money, pictures, casino, ben & jerry's, cover charges at the specialty restaurants (johnny rockets), and any trinkets you may buy! Enjoy your cruise
InsideCruiser Posted October 21, 2010 #3 Share Posted October 21, 2010 You should research RCI's tipping guidelines as well.
cb at sea Posted October 21, 2010 #4 Share Posted October 21, 2010 You can do soda a couple of ways...buy it by the can, purchase the "soda package" for unlimited fountain soda (you need to drink the equivilent of 3+ cans per day for it to make sense) or bring your own aboard. Other "extras" will be excursions, of course, and some exercise classes ! On Carnival, the tips are added daily to your account. On RCI, you can either pay the tips in cash on the last night, or have them added to your account. If you choose the My Time Dining option, you will HAVE to pay for the tips when you book that. Tips are a bit cheaper than Carnival...figure $9.75 per person, per day if you're in a JS or below.
138east Posted October 21, 2010 #5 Share Posted October 21, 2010 Any time they ask for your seapass card you are going to be charged. With kids you might want to check out the cost of video games so that doesn't get out of control. As someone mentioned you can usually take your own soda even though RCL says you can't. Folks who sail the IOS can probably tell you what really happens. I sail the Explorer and have never had a problem - the security folks at Bayonne just don't care. There should be plenty of free lemonade, iced tea, and ice water. I think there may be a way you can limit what the kids can charge and you can definitely check the status of your account on the TV.
