lucia1024 Posted July 3, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 3, 2008 Hi Does anyone know of any Hop-On Hop-Off type bus tours in Victoria? I did see that Vancouver has some. I would be interested in a type of tour that has a live narrator describing the attractions. I will also be in Vancouver on my anniversary. The day before boarding my ship. Any suggestion on restaurants that may have a nice ambiance and maybe a view of the city? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Urban trekker Posted July 3, 2008 #2 Share Posted July 3, 2008 "Any suggestion on restaurants that may have a nice ambiance and maybe a view of the city? Lucia - if you let us know where you are staying we might be better able to offer some suggestions. Here's a link to the Big Bus in Victoria which has a hop on hop off feature: http://www.bigbusvictoria.ca/victoria.cfm Cheers Dennis
Putterdude Posted July 3, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 3, 2008 Here is a link to another HoHo bus in Victoria, I think that they are pretty similar: http://www.victoriabcguide.com/rblcity.htm
insideedge Posted July 3, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2008 Big Bus is just a tape recording, no live narration. Gray Line has a hop on hop off that is fully narrated by the driver. I believe the price is also cheaper than Big Bus.

Putterdude Posted July 5, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 5, 2008 Thanks Guys! I am staying at the Sunset Inn & Suites on Burnaby St. Hope this will help you give me some suggestions on restaurant. Restaurants that you may wish to consider would be: A Kettle of Fish on Pacific, or either of Umberto Menghi's restaurants on Hornby St, Il Giardino or Umberto's, Joe Fortes on Thurlow just north of Robson, or the Boathouse at Beach and Denman Sts. http://www.akettleoffish.net/ http://www.hotelvilladelia.com/restaurants.cfm www.joefortes.ca/ http://www.boathouserestaurants.ca/2004/english_bay.htm
aruba1983 Posted April 2, 2009 #7 Share Posted April 2, 2009 Big Bus is just a tape recording, no live narration. Gray Line has a hop on hop off that is fully narrated by the driver. I believe the price is also cheaper than Big Bus. We will only be in Victoria from 7:00 to 2:00 pm. Is that enough time to do a HOHO tour in June? Putterdude Posted April 2, 2009 #8 Share Posted April 2, 2009 Its pretty tight but because the Big Bus starts running at 9 am you should get a pretty good tour in the time that you are there. You won't be able to get off at all the stops but you can a a couple. Check out there schedule and plan in advance: http://www.bigbusvictoria.ca/victoria.cfm
aruba1983 Posted May 14, 2009 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2009 We are sailing on the Sea Princess, at which pier does Princess dock the ship? And which is the closest stop on the Big Bus route? :) Thank you
