kstuppy Posted August 25, 2005 #1 Share Posted August 25, 2005 I've searched and searched and searched and can't find this answer anywhere. Does anyone know the address of the Pan American Pier in San Juan? Thanks :)
kstuppy Posted August 26, 2005 Author #2 Share Posted August 26, 2005 Thanks for the reply. I am looking for a physical address, if one exists. Just trying to decide on a hotel and I was going to use the address to find out the distance each hotel is from the pier.
Clubber Posted August 28, 2005 #3 Share Posted August 28, 2005 You can guestimate the distance of many hotels from the aerial view available through the link below. As above, the Sizzler is at the entrance. Also, the San Juan Bay Marina is close and you can find their address on their web site at http://www.sjbaymarina.com/e_default.htm
Oh2Travel Posted September 11, 2005 #4 Share Posted September 11, 2005 My understanding is that Caribe Hilton and the Art Deco hotel (name?) next to it are the closest to Pan American. We booked at the Howard Johnsons Hotel (about 1 mile from airport) directly thru HoJo site for $90. Hotels in SJ seem highly priced and since we will only be there for about 12 hrs pre cruise, we didn't want to extend a lot of $$$ on one of the other properties. A cab ride of approx $20 should get us to the pier. Good luck.
jbrambach Posted September 12, 2005 #5 Share Posted September 12, 2005 The "art deco" hotel next to the Carib Hilton is called the Normandie. I stayed there for 1 night Jan 04. Clean and close to the Pan American Pier. Also you can walk over to the Carib Hilton for dinner etc.
Shorview75 Posted September 13, 2005 #6 Share Posted September 13, 2005 Is the Pan American Pier right near a Sheraton? Where the NOS docks? SHould have paid better attention to its name when we were just there. Looking to cruise on the AOS next summer.
MauiLvrs Posted September 6, 2006 #7 Share Posted September 6, 2006 Is the Pan American Pier right near a Sheraton? The Pan American Pier isn't near much except the airport (and not the intl. airport).
countryside Posted September 6, 2006 #8 Share Posted September 6, 2006 I dont think that there is a street address but the place is known as Pan American pier or Isla Grande airport. In other words, the street is parallel to the runway. Its not in old San Juan and its a long walk, like if you were at one side of an airport and you had to go around to the other side....Hope this helps
MSN-Travelers Posted September 6, 2006 #9 Share Posted September 6, 2006 Thanks for the reply. I am looking for a physical address, if one exists. Just trying to decide on a hotel and I was going to use the address to find out the distance each hotel is from the pier. If you are looking for a hotel that is close to the PanAm pier, you might as well quit now. There isn't any. Refer to this URL for an aerial view of OSJ and it will put things inperspective as far as distances go. http://www.langland.org/cruises/sanjuan.asp You should base your hotel choice on cost and proximity to other activities you may want to do. The hotel costs in SJ are pretty high when compaired to other tourist destinations. Hotels that are classified as a "resort" have a resort tax added. Hotels that have a "casino" in them have a casino tax added. Nothing is within walking distance of the PanAm pier. You will have to take a taxi from your hotel to the PanAm pier. Taxi fares are regulated on a zone basis for basic transport to/from the hotels to/from the piers & the international airport. It will be a flat-fee per taxi from any given hotel in OSJ, Condado or Isla Verde zones to the PanAm pier. I don't have the link to the current taxi rates readily available but a Forum Search for "taxi rates" will get you the link to that chart. Enjoy!
